Acoelorraphe wrightti is an attractive clustering Palm native to Florida and areas in Central America.
The trunk(s) are slender and covered with reddish/brown fiber (old leaf bases). On older plants, the trunks are sometimes bare and smooth. Though of little concern, the petioles are generally armed with pointed thorns. This Palm may grow to a height of 20ft or more.
An erect flower stalk sprouts from among the leaves littered with white flowers. Round fruits ripen from green through orange to black.
Acoelorraphe wrightii occurs in the Everglades National Park and is categorized as threatened by the state of Florida.
