Agave lechuguilla is a slender-leaved succulent from dry areas in Texas and Mexico (Chihuahua). Expect a mature height of about 2ft - possibly shorter. Flowers are orange and appear on a tall spike.
This Agave will prefer placement in full sun. Additional watering is typically not necessary. Hardy to about 0°F with a remarkable tolerance to heat.
Spanish and Portuguese explorers probably brought Agaves back with them, but the plants became popular in Mediterranean gardens in Europe during the 19th century, with many types being imported by collectors.
