The broad leaves of Alocasia plumbea are dark green and remain glossy on the undersides. Tall grape-colored stalks age to almost black. Placement in the yard or in the house is versatile with this striking Alocasia.

Alocasias are tender tropical plants which are commonly known as Elephant Ears. They are grown for their beautiful colored leaves ranging from purple, green, blueish-green, bronze and red. They prefer partial shade, well-drained soil, high humidity and frequent watering. Some varieties can be grown in or near ponds and tolerate poor soil.
