Sempervivum is a group of plants which contains over 40 species of rosette shaped succulents. Star-shaped flowers may be green, pink, red, yellow or white in summer.

Sempervivum arachnoideum is a popular container plant in areas that get the chill (hardy to about 10°F). Heat tolerance is questionable, and should probably not be placed in full sun. Water regularly.

This plant will naturally (and slowly) spread eventually forming waves of tiny radial patterns. They will not however take much foot-traffic. The individual rosettes appear woven together as if connected by a spider-web like hair or fiber. They remain small (1-2 in. wide).
